Mobile crushing across Toowoomba

Toowoomba is the one part of our Queensland coverage where the levy arithmetic genuinely changes. It sits in the regional zone, Level 2, where the general waste levy is $100 per tonne for 2026-27 rather than the $135 per tonne that applies across the metropolitan zone. That is a real difference, and it is worth knowing before anyone assumes the Brisbane numbers carry across the range.

There is a catch that catches people out. The rate follows both where the material was generated and where it is disposed of, so concrete carted down the range to a metropolitan facility is charged at the metropolitan rate anyway. Keeping the material on site avoids the range crossing and the question entirely, along with the fuel, the driver hours and the wear that a Toowoomba Range round trip involves.

Distance is the defining factor for Darling Downs work. On rural and regional jobs the nearest receiving facility can be an hour or more each way, which means a single truck manages very few loads in a day and the cartage cost per tonne climbs accordingly. Crushing on site collapses that entirely: the material never leaves, and the road base you would have imported is produced where it is needed.

The machine reaches Toowoomba on a standard float with no oversize classification or escorts, which matters on the range, and it is crushing within about 20 minutes of arriving. Feed is clean hard material only, concrete, brick, rock and asphalt, with reinforcement liberated during crushing and separated magnetically.
