Mobile crushing across the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast runs a steady pipeline of civil, subdivision and commercial redevelopment work, from the Maroochydore city centre build-out through Kawana and Caloundra to the hinterland. That work produces slab, footing, kerb and pavement material continuously, and the receiving facilities are far enough apart that cartage, rather than the gate fee, is often the largest line on the disposal bill.

The Sunshine Coast sits in the metropolitan levy zone for the Queensland waste levy, so there is no regional discount to soften disposal. At $135 per tonne for 2026-27 plus a gate fee plus the haul, moving clean concrete off a coastal job is expensive in a way that is easy to underestimate when it is spread across a dozen dockets rather than quoted as one number.

Getting plant to the coast is straightforward. The RM 70GO! 2.0 travels on a standard float with no oversize classification, permits or escorts, and is crushing within about 20 minutes of arriving, so mobilisation does not eat the saving. Output is graded in the machine to road base, drainage gravel and 5 mm or 10 mm aggregate, and every tonne is weighed on the onboard belt scale.

For smaller coastal jobs the honest answer is sometimes that a single site does not carry enough tonnage to justify bringing the crusher in. Where several stages or adjacent lots can be stockpiled and crushed in one visit the economics improve sharply, and that is usually the conversation worth having before the first truck is booked.
