Mobile crushing across the Moreton Bay region

The Moreton Bay region mixes greenfield subdivision work in the north with redevelopment closer to Brisbane, so the material stream runs from clean excavation rock through to demolition slab and old kerb. Subdivisions make the strongest case for crushing in place, because a job that is about to buy road base is usually standing on the material it could be made from.

Moreton Bay sits in the metropolitan levy zone, so there is no regional discount to soften disposal. The Queensland general waste levy is $135 per tonne for 2026-27, and that sits on top of a gate fee and the haul itself. On a Caboolture or Narangba job the receiving facilities are far enough south that cartage, rather than the gate fee, is often the largest line on the bill. That cost is easy to underestimate when it arrives as a stack of dockets instead of a single quoted number.

Mobilisation is straightforward. The RM 70GO! 2.0 travels on a standard float with no oversize classification, permits or escorts, and is crushing within about 20 minutes of arriving, so getting plant to the northern corridor does not eat the saving. Output is graded in the machine to road base, drainage gravel and 5 mm or 10 mm aggregate, and every tonne is weighed on the onboard belt scale.

Feed has to be clean hard material. Concrete, brick, rock and asphalt crush well; timber, plasterboard and soil are separated out before the crusher arrives. Where a site cannot keep the material clean, on-site crushing is the wrong answer and we will say so.

For smaller Moreton Bay jobs the honest answer is sometimes that a single site does not carry enough tonnage to justify bringing the crusher in. Redevelopment work around Redcliffe and Strathpine tends to produce slabs, driveways and footings in modest volumes. Where several stages or adjacent lots can be stockpiled and crushed in one visit the economics improve sharply, and that is the conversation worth having before the first truck is booked.
